About Mandated Volunteer Service
HandsOn River Region is here to help you complete your mandated or court-ordered community service hours! If you’re looking for one place to complete many hours in a short timeframe—and you’ll need a letter of verification—you’re in the right place. Please read this entire page carefully before serving any hours.
Instructions for Getting Started
Quickly access approved, mandated and court-ordered volunteer opportunities from our project calendar in the Get Connected Center by following the steps below.
Step 1: Create or Log In to Your Account (Get Connected Center)
Go to our volunteer portal: https://handsonriverregion.galaxydigital.com/user/login/
- New users: Click Sign Up, complete the required fields, and agree to the terms.
- Returning users: Enter your email and password and click Log In.
Step 2: Find a Volunteer Opportunity
Once logged in, use the top navigation to select “Find an Opportunity” or view the “Calendar.” Use filters such as Date, Distance, and Categories to narrow your search.
- For mandated or court-ordered hours, look for opportunities that indicate they accept court-ordered volunteers. If a listing does not clearly state this, contact the host organization before signing up for the listing.
- You can also visit the “Needs” page and type the word “mandated” in the ‘Search By’ field. This will bring up a filtered list of available volunteer service opportunities that are appropriate for court-mandated service hours.
- Do not register for opportunities that require a background check. If you fail a background check, your registration may be removed and this can delay completion of your hours.
Step 3: Serve
Double-check the date, time, and location listed on your registration or confirmation email.
Be sure to sign in and sign out (or check in/out if prompted by the site host) so your hours can be verified. Without a proper sign-in/out or host verification, hours cannot be confirmed.
Step 4: Get Your Volunteer Resume (Center Module)
Once your hours are verified, you can access your Volunteer Resume from your profile main screen:
- Sign into the portal and go to your Profile main screen.
- On the left side, click the blue Volunteer Resume button.
- Filter your start and end dates and click Go to print your Volunteer Resume, which will include your volunteer listings by date and hours of service.
Please note: If your volunteer service is court-mandated, your hours may not be accepted in this format. You may still need a written and signed letter of confirmation of hours.
